How to develop the habit of drawing

HOW TO DEVELOP THE HABIT OF DRAWING

For many years, my studio was at home. The table in the living room that was changed into what my daughter and I dubbed "the creativity table" is the first evidence of a studio in my opinion. This table was unique in that, in addition to being the largest in the house and receiving the most natural light, anyone who began a creative project on it may leave it there without putting anything back in place until they finished the task at hand.

This meant that we could both experiment with our rhythm and have fun without worrying about putting things away, but when we had visitors for dinner, we knew that a half-move was in store for us!

Then, after several years, thanks to the brilliant ideas of the architect who reimagined and created my apartment tailored to our needs, a room was created, tiny, I believe 9 square meters, but to me it seemed like a palace, an incredible luxury... no longer the table of creativity, but the room of creativity!

And as the physical area allocated to the visual arts grew, so did the time and energy I dedicated to it; what had previously been a minor thing had grown into Something, possibly even something essential, but I didn't realize it at the time.

Then, around two and a half years ago, I founded an association with two of my friends with no specific goals in mind... all we knew was that we shared a passion for creativity. And as if by magic, I found a room in a small village near where I live, and shared with those friends.

I began offering watercolor classes because, for me, sharing experiences and information makes them much more substantial and meaningful. In that studio, I met many people who were taking their first steps with the brush, water, and colors, some of them eventually becoming friends, for which I am grateful. At that time, I realized that something significant was taking shape in a more apparent manner.

However, a few months ago, I moved my studio to the city where I live in, to a neighborhood bordered by a number of parks, which allows me to take beautiful walks to my studio every day... yeah, since I can walk there from home!

I'll be back here writing as soon as I feel like I've truly arrived in this new studio, and if you're interested in stopping by to visit the studio and talk about art and watercolors, please write me an email.
